Where is everyone going for the 2007-2008 season?
« on: October 22, 2007, 11:18:32 AM »
Three places for me so far:

Snowshoe, WV.  Warm up trip.

Whistler, Canada.  Fun!

Alpe d'Huez, France.  Insane!

I'm going to try to sneak a Cali or CO trip in if I can.  :D

Various local (and small) resorts as well.

I am going to make it out to Whistler this winter for sure.  Also, lots of backcountry and who knows what else!

I have a season pass to Heavenly in Lake Tahoe, so I'll be up there most weekends (if i have the money).  Also going for a week to Salt Lake City.

Speaking of which, does anyone know any good resorts in the Salt Lake City area? I'm seriously thinking about buying a Super Pass, which includes four days at Snowbird, Alta, Solitude and Brighton, plus roundtrip bus fare for only $106!  Sounds like a good deal, except for the fact that you cant snowboard at Atla  :(  but 3 resorts in four days for that price is still pretty dam cheap.
If riding is wrong, then I dont wanna be right!

LUCKY!  That place looks really rad.  Post some Heavenly pics in the gallery if you can.

The $106 deal sounds awesome.  Where did you find that?

Heavenly is definately one of the biggest in Lake Tahoe, (half the resort is in CA and other half in NV). I always have a great time when I go.  I would say that its not for the hard core snowboarders though, the majority of the trails are for beginner/intermediates.  You might wanna try Squaw Valley for a challenge.

I messed up on the price of the pass, its actually $156 for 4 days,  :? but still a good deal.

The pass itself is thru either the city of Salt Lake or some company, but the $156 deal is a special thru Travelocity! If you buy the pass for 2 days or more they'll give you an additional day free.  You have to purchase before 12/15/07, but the pass can be used any time during this season (but when you start using the pass it'll expire in 7 days).   Here's where you can find it:

I got the pass that includes A-Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge as well as Beaver Creek and Vail.  Course Echo Mtn is on my list for the weekend only cause it is so close and so cheap!

Keystone is definately my favorite so far.

Keystone had some really nice rolling groomers that go on forever.  Sweet hits all over too!  But for my money, I like Vail the best of all on that list :)

Hey, where is Echo Mtn?

Im unfortunatly hitting the east coast trash ice of the south unless i can get lucky
enough to get away to colorado for a week.
ive been cruising perfect north indiana..which has decent snow but the difference
between beginner and intermediate is insane..like going from a slope bump
to a 45ft table. plus the 10-20 minute lift lines and the crazy rules make it
not so fun.
and paoli peaks indiana..which is like riding on 4ft of hail. its almost impossible
to turn at the resort today. we hit a blackie comming down pretty swift and i almost
ran off the course into the woods trying to carve out a turn. the more you leaned
in to ride the edge the more your board went under the ice until you just stopped.
if they had their snow right they would have a killer resort. they have rails for
miles in a great stepper program. and they have a half pipe groomer, but no
half pipe this year.

Sorry bout that dude, I really hope you are able to get out west soon.  There is mad snow out here (I am in Oregon).  We have over 170" base right now and snow every day!

I feel you frosty...I live in the bay area, CA, and I go up to Tahoe about once a week (a three hour drive) to ride, and it's been an AWESOME snow season so far!
