Toe Cap Upgrades???
« on: March 30, 2007, 03:30:51 PM »
I have a pair of Burton Freestyle bindings (dont know how old they are since I bought them used) and recently saw someone selling Burton toe cap straps online.  Right now I have the older straps that go over the toes, but I've been wondering if maybe I should upgrade without having to drop a pretty penny on new bindings.  Any suggestions guys???
If riding is wrong, then I dont wanna be right!

It is hard to say.  It is commonly known that the toe straps are far less crutial than the ankle straps, so it may not matter that much to be very concerned about.

Dewd, I got the Burton toe caps a couple 'o years ago.  They rock!  My toes don't git cold anymore since were I go snowboarding there are no warming huts........

They are for a better distribution of the pressure on the toe of the boot.  This helps keep the blood flowing to the toes thus keeping them warmer, for me anyway.  I was in 25 below last year and my toes did not get cold.........

capstraps also help to keep the heel of the boot back against the hi-back of the binding and reduce toe drag. :D
