I just took my first trip out west to Park City, its was unbelievable! I havent been on a board in 10 years but it was like getting back on a bike! A little . I went at it pretty hard the first day, took a couple easy runs and then babied my way down some wimpy diamonds of the payday lift, and pretty much stayed on the blues the remainder of the day. Basically focusing on just carving a staying at a consistent speed. The second day was alot different. I made 2 runs and then the fatigue in my left leg was so bad i thought it be wise to avoid any further strain. I will strength train the legs for next year obviously., but my questions are.... on my frontside turns my heels kept coming a little off the base of the boot I wear a 9.5 the boots felt snug but is this normal? There's alot of great equipment out there today, would it have made a difference in my days if I hade my own rather the stuff I rented? On my backside turns I kept sliding out of the turn and ass planting! Should you feel even weight on the backside turn, because It felt like I always started with all of the weight on my front foot when i started that turn. Also when is the best time to buy Gear for next season,should i do it soon or wait till there's nothing left to choose from in the summer. I like to be a slow and steady carver, when I am on a little more of a verticle I like to hit the edges hard. What kind of board should I look for?
