Is a 157 Rossignol Scope too long?
« on: March 08, 2008, 02:19:05 PM »
This is my first year snowboarding, and I can link turns comfortably on green and blue slopes, but not so much on the blacks. I've been renting my equipments and now I'm thinking of getting my own. So, I found a 157cm Rossignol Scope, and that's the only one that's within my budget. My question is, is the board too long for me because I'm only 5'6 and 142lbs. And I'm not exactly sure, but I think I might have rented 157cm boards before.

Also, it comes with 5150 FF2000 bindings and Northwave Freedom boots. They're stiffer than the ones I've been renting. So, I just want to know if they're fine for beginner/intermediates.

What is your boot size?  I ask because boot size relates to board width, which is more important than length.

Thanks for the very fast reply, lol. My bootsize is 8.5. I tried a 9 today and it feels the same.

I think you would be better off with the 152 or 153 size, unless you plan on riding powder all the time.

Not really much you can do about that other than trying to configure the bindings so that they are moved as far to the center of the board as possible :(
