Hey guys so I’m looking to get my own board I’ve been renting for a few years now but I think its time.

I’m about 200 pounds and around 5 ft 10 inches. I have a size 10.5 boot and my boots are the Burton motos. I previously had an old board from like ’03 with a 24.5cm waist width and medium freeystyle bindings and it was horrible. Everything on the binding was maxed out and my toes stuck out a bunch not only from the board but from the binding. I even had my stance as far as it would let me and angled to 15 and -15.

After using the calculator, it is telling me i need a waist width of 25.2 and recommended me the 158 Burton Clash. I’m just struggling with width and don’t want to make the same mis

also thinking of a sierra reverse crew which is 25.4cm waist width.. i feel like both these boards would fit the 10.5 boots even with large bindings. just want to make sure i wouldnt get too much overhang where it becomes a problem..

Welcome @nasseifp Well… I am a size 9.5 to 10 boot and my ideal waist width is 24.7 to 24.9.  I can see why a 24.5 would be too narrow for you — especially if your bindings do not elevate (rise) your boot very high off the top of the board.  Size 10.5 boot is a tough size.  IMO a board with a 25.4 should be plenty wide (again depending on the binding base rise), but if you think that is too risky you can try a mid-wide board.  The disadvantage of wide boards it that your feet and legs will get tired faster — due to the increased leverage created.Let me know what you decide or if you want any further opinion 🙂

I actually tried my friends board which is a forum raider and its waist width is 26.5. Felt pretty good to me but a little too big, so i ended up buying the sierra reverse crew wide which is about 26(mostly because i got a pretty good deal).I appreciate the help and the quick response!

That's cool you got a good deal on the Sierra Reverse Crew Wide.  I am interested to hear how that rig rides for you 🙂

@frosty sorry for the late reply. The board rides well. Not as aggressive as I would like it to be, so i guess i couldve gone with the non-wide version but i still love it. Top sheet is super delicate tho =/
