buying a board... wide or not
« on: December 24, 2008, 03:23:55 PM »
headed out West for 20 days!!!  :D in February (excited!) and decided to buy instead of pumping the money in demo boards

I'm down between the Ride Havoc 2008 and Ride Decade 2008 in 162cm

the Decade only comes "wide" with a waist of 26.3cm while the Havoc is at 25.2cm

my boots are 10.5 and my stance is 20.5 and my angles are 15 R, -5 L

I think I'm leaning toward the Havoc but concerned about toe and heel drag

anyone familiar with these two boards? and can comment? I know we're talking 9mm difference and I'm thinking my angles are enough to eliminate the drag but I want to be sure - thanks much in advance and let it continue to dump out West!!  :D

I would go with the havoc.  Too wide is no fun.  Out west is softer snow anyways, so you can feel possible toe/heel drag and back off if needed before crashing.  A boot that is designed to minimize drag is really helpful too.
