Board Size For Me
« on: January 07, 2007, 09:47:57 PM »
Hey Frosty-

Your board sizing calculator has really helped me with my choices, I just wanna make sure of some things.

I am 5'11", 185 pounds, 10.5-11 size shoe, intermediate rider, and prefer powder/groomers and some jumps and boxes.

Your calculator recommended a 161 for me except I'm worried that this might be too big for me.  I recently rented a 155 and that felt a little short but it was good for making turns, then I went to a 160 and this was better but a little harder to make turns on.
My brother has a 158 and is 6'0" 190 pounds and he says that his board is perfect for him.  Should I still go with a 160 size board?

Thanks, Matt

Hey dude.  There is very little (if any) noticable difference between 2 or 3 centimeters of board length.  Many other factors come into play that can override that -- for example:

- Is the extra couple cm in board Running Length or in Tip/Tail Kick?
- Sidecut radius of the board
- How de-tuned the board is
- Current snow conditions

All of these can override 2 to 3 cm of board length, so IMO it's up to you but soesnt really matter that much independently.
