Better Board: Burton Elite or Burton Se7en
« on: January 08, 2007, 10:26:11 PM »
Dear Frosty -

I've decided to go with one of these 2 boards.  They are both similar in cost (Elite-$360, Se7en-$380).

The Elite seems more groomer based and the Se7en seems more park based, but the Se7en also has better specs and seems like a better board.  (But the Elite is even core profile and the Se7en is positive core profile which is better for carving and freeride).

I won't be in the park that much, mainly be ridin down the mountain with a few jumps and boxes.

Could I use the Se7en as a freeride board or would I be better just stickin with the Elite?

Thanks for everything.

Tough choice dude.  They are both really nice rides and I am sure would both work nicely for you.  The specs are very similar.  The Se7en is a True Twin board while the Elite is a Directional Twin.  This mainly means that if you set up the bindings for all-mountain riding, you may have to set them towards the tail 3-4cm on the Se7en to give you the longer nose that's beneficial in powder.  The Elite has that built in already.
