So this year ive been trying to cut back on clothing so im not wearing so much (works really good and i stay warm).  So for pants im just wearing the base layer and my snowboard pants.  And my snowboard pants are really thiin so i have like no padding.  And occasionally ill fall on my knees on icey spots annd it hurts like heck.  I cant imagine hitting a jump or something and landing on  my knees   that would suck BAD. 
So do most people do the ^above^ or should I add some sweat pants or somethin for extra cushion?

i live south so i dont even wear a base layer. boxers and snowpants! i just try
to make sure i land on my back
